ArOmis’ bergamot oil is steam-distilled from the fruit of the bergamot tree (Citrus bergamia). You’ll recognize bergamot’s tart, orange-like smell because the trees are in the orange family.  Aromatically, bergamot fruit is quite tart, but its oil exudes a warm, spicy-sweet scent. Tea drinkers will likely recognize bergamot as the main ingredient which gives Earl Grey tea its unique flavor and aroma.

Like other essential oils in the orange family, bergamot has been used as a fragrance for hundreds of years. The soothing and pleasant aroma of bergamot makes it a great choice for DIY cleaners or as a diffuser scent in any type of space.

Uses & Benefits

  • Consider incorporating bergamot into your own deodorant, cologne, or perfume scents.
  • Dilute a few drops of bergamot into a base oil like coconut oil for a revitalizing, healing skin balm.
  • Blend with geranium, lavender, or ylang-ylang to create a relaxing massage oil.
  • Use bergamot with lemon or patchouli for a powerful DIY cleaner or uplifting diffuser blend.
  • Add a few drops of bergamot essential oil to shampoos for relief of dandruff, and enjoy an extra pop of fragrance and shine.
  • Bergamot oil may help to reduce acne, irritations, bruises, eczema, and other types of skin irritations.
  • Inhale directly for relief of sinus issues, coughs, colds, or digestive problems.
  • Use in any room in your house to create a warm, bright atmosphere for guests.
  • Create our own DIY spray cleaner and deodorizer by blending bergamot with oils like lemongrass, eucalyptus, or lavender.

Bergamot is generally safe and the odor is well tolerated by most but some experience sensitivity to the skin. Avoid using insensitive areas, and always test a small portion of your skin to ensure that you do not have a reaction. Use caution if pregnant or nursing.
